Setup File for 2008
[NOTE - October 10, 2007 - Files are temporarily unavailable because of a problem with the web host. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused by this!]

Special note: The newest version of FileMaker Pro requires that you have Windows 2000, Windows XP, or above. If you don't, you can download this version instead: SETUPMassSTW2008v55.exe. You won't need to do the "extra" step to transfer your files. |
Click the link above to download the setup file for the 2007-2008 version of the database. Direct the file to your Desktop or other convenient location. Notice that the file is much larger than in previous years, and may take some time to download. (Lunch break?) Once it is downloaded, run the file called SetupMassSTW2008.exe to run the setup program. The new database files will be installed to your C:\ drive to the folder C:\MassSTW2008.
THIS YEAR ONLY ... there is also a one-time "Transfer2007_2008" program that you'll use if you want to import data from last year to this year. This is needed because we are upgrading to a new version of FileMaker Pro. If you plan to transfer data from last year, run the setup program for this transfer, called SetupTransfer.exe.
After you have run these SETUP files:
If you are going to transfer data from last year...
- First, make sure that last year's program files are in C:\MassSTW2007.
- On the START menu, click Start, Programs, MassSTW2008, Transfer2007_2008
- This will open a file called TransferActivity.SKL, which was installed in the C:\MassSTW2007 folder.
- Click the blue button to run the Import/Export routine. For each dialog box, choose "Matching Names" and click Enter and then click Enter again.
- When done, close the program.
- This routine copied data from the MassSTW2007 files into some temporary files called TransferActivity.skl, TransferAllPlans.skl, TransferEmployer.skl, etc. Later, you'll import from THESE files into your new database.
To launch the new FY08 program:
- Click Start, Programs, MassSTW2008, MassSTW2008.
- TO SIGN IN: The new version of FileMaker Pro now asks for an account name and a password. For this database, the account name and the password are the same ... and are the same as last year's password. Call or email if you need this information.
- To import data from FY2006-2007: From the main menu, click on the Utilities... button and then click on Import from the 2005-2006 version button. Follow the instructions on the screen to import your data. If necessary, enter the password each time you are prompted (account name is the same as the password and the password is the same as last year - call or email if you need it).
- Initial Setup. From the Main Menu, go to the Setup Screen button to select your WIB/Region and to select a one or two letter prefix that will identify records that you enter. Instructions available on the screen.
- Read What's New in the Database in 2008 to find out about new features.
