Web Design Steps and Skills / Conclusions

Skills needed. In addition to technical skills, web design calls for listening skills, creative thinking, logical thinking, writing skills, artistic skills, and teamwork. It's great to try your hand at all these skills! But don't worry if you notice that it's hard to accomplish all these at one time. Sometimes web designers need to concentrate on just one thing at a time. Work as team to develop the website and take turns focusing on the different aspects of web design. Here are some of the steps involved:

Planning. Think about your goals for the site, your audience, and your resources and timeline. Organize the team that will be working together on the site.

Envisioning the site. On paper, sketch out the website. Draw a grid that shows how you'd like the pages laid out. Make a list of the pages that you'll include in the site.

Artwork. Use digital camera, drawing software, scanner, etc. to create artwork for the site. Get digital copies of existing drawings, photos and logos that you want on your site. Use *.jpg and *.gif images.
