Engineering - Making It Matter

The Making it Matter badge presents six science and engineering challenges.

1. Make a model showing how ball bearings work.
   
   
2. Take apart a piece of machinery or equipment that is ready to be thrown away and study how the parts work together.
   
   
3. Create a structure from newspaper and tape that is strong enough to hold a cup of pennies or rocks.
   
   
4. Use batteries, wire and a buzzer, lightbulb or motor to show how circuits work.
   
   
5. Create plastic-like polymers using the recipes in the badge book.
   
   
6. Create a homemade acid-base pH tester using the directions in the badge book.
   
   
7. Or create an invention of your own.
