The Pet Care badge was the first badge we earned as a troop in Fall 2001.
1. For at least two weeks, we helped to take care of our pets or one
who lives nearby. We have done everything - feeding, walking dogs, walking cats,
changing litter boxes,
giving medicine, and brushing and playing with our pets.
2. In one of our meetings, we created Pet Care magazines with information about
different types of pets, products that pets need, and games and pictures. We also used index cards
to make advertisements and subscription cards.
3. In the next meeting, we had a fictional magazine staff meeting to discuss pet care questions
that our fictional readers had sent in. We finished our magazines and earned our badges. But we are still taking care of our pets!
